I like how Barragan is a contemporary architect who influences many other architects with his style. However, what I don’t like is how he uses large wall planes to make his space feel intimate and comfortable, surely sometimes it is good to be out of your comfort zone and to design some darker and uncomfortable spaces to create more of an experience and a memory? Although it is good how he shows his expressions within the architecture and he has a strong passion for geometry and it is clear where his ideas come from. It also does appear that everything has been clearly thought out and designed in a specific way, such as; high walls in the garden to act as a protective barrier. In the reading I think it could also be beneficial if the materials used were explained and in detail, rather than just explaining the purpose for the space.
